New year, new TransMoto! This year has brought with it some significant changes and improvements to one of our most interesting and exciting floor plans. This plan is a dream come true to so many involved in the moto industry, combining all the amenities and features of a full camper van with the convenience and security of a moto trailer. Pulling a trailer can be inconvenient and difficult, and doesn’t offer much versatility. The TransMoto 2.0 floor plan is the perfect solution to this problem.
Specially designed for the Ford Transit 148 High Roof Extended (which boasts a full 7”-8” more height compared to tallest Sprinter/Promaster vans), this floor plan seats 4, and sleeps 3-4 (depending on seat/bed selection), while simultaneously being able to haul 2-3 bikes. With the optional addition of a pass-through door in the raised bed face, accessing both sides of this build has never been easier.
The compact passenger side galley includes a surprising amount of storage, a microwave in the upper cabinet, two step drawers to access the raised bed, fresh and grey water bottles, a 12 volt pump and a euro flush glass-top sink and stove combo (upgrades are available). The full height cabinet on the driver’s side houses a large fridge, a pantry, storage, and a water-closet drawer with a dry flush toilet. Upper cabinets on both sides add some additional storage space.
Like many of our builds, one of the best features is the ability to bring the whole family along, with the beautiful Broad Arrow bifold seat that includes 3-point safety belts. When day turns to night, with the help of dual front swivel seats, this seat layout is designed to transform into another sleeping area for one adult or two children (depending on seat/bed selection).
Some upgrades/options that can be added by the Wilderness Vans team include a large fresh water tank system, a rear shower, a water heater, upgraded sinks/cooktops, and more. As with most of our builds, this floor plan can also be modified further to suit individual needs.
