This fall we had the opportunity to host our very first Wilderness Vans Rally, for which we sent out invitations to our past van build customers. Seeing as it was our very first one, we thought it best to host it right here in our own epic backyard, the picturesque Canadian Rockies. We set a date and dropped a pin to some crown land near Abraham Lake, just outside of the Banff and Jasper National Parks, and invited any of our customers that were willing and able to meet us there.
We arrived and set things up on a Thursday afternoon, and the Wilderness Vans Team prepared a delicious dinner for everyone that evening. The following day, we joined up with Rockies Heli, and planned a Heli Hiking adventure for everyone that had arrived the night before. The day trip started with a helicopter ride through the Rockies to a beautiful hiking location. This location was at a much higher elevation, in comparison to where we’d started, so it was cooler, but everyone was bundled up and prepared for a beautiful hike through the falling snow. After hiking down the mountain a ways, we stopped for lunch near an alpine lake. At the end of our hike, the helicopter came to pick us up at our new location. We ended our final evening with enjoying warm meals, good conversations around the fire, stargazing, and banana boats for dessert . While this event was only our first, we already look forward to hosting another, and once again getting the amazing opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors alongside our customers. We sure enjoyed getting to know them all on a more personal level, outside of the build process, and we look forward to many more adventures as a Wilderness Vans family in the future.
